A Notice Of Termination is required in most cases. The exception is if your child is no longer of compulsory age and you would rather not do any more communication with the BOE rather than them have the knowledge that your child has graduated. After compulsory age has passed you are no longer bound by the state homeschool laws. If you child has done and submitted their 11th grade review and has passed their 17th birthday and has graduated your school, you don't have to send a NOT, however it could be beneficial for you to still do so in some cases. In other cases the law requires you to send an NOT(moving within the state, moving out of state, graduating before compulsory age has ended, going back to public school or private school, etc.)
